Detachment這部電影其實對白不多，畫面加旁白的敘述讓人非常深刻地感受到無助的，以為沒有人看見自己的人，充斥在城市的四周圍。男主角對他的學生說了以上這番話，他問爲什麽讀書重要？因為讀書能讓我們學會辨別、理解、聆聽，還有不被幻象所迷惑。

我們需要學會保衛自己的思想，奧威爾說：在這世界上人擁有最大的自由，即是腦袋內的想法。這是的確是至理名言。
